Meagan and her mom were at the mall and Meagan wanted to buy a doll.
2

$7.66
The doll's price tag said $7.66 so she asked her mom if she could buy it.
3

Her mother looked in her bag for the $7.66.
4

In her bag, she had multiple bills and coins!
5

"What's the difference between the paper and the little tokens?", asked Meagan.
6

Her mom explained that the different bills and coins have different values.
7

"In the U.S.A. we have a currency of cents and dollars."
8

"The little brown ones are called pennies and they are 1¢. 100 pennies equal 1 dollar!" her mother said.
"The medium sized silver ones are called nickles and they are 5¢. 20 nickles equal 1 dollar" her mother explained.
"The little silver ones are dimes and are 10¢. Only 10 dimes equal 1 dollar!" exclaimed her mother.
" And lastly, the big silver coins are quarters and equal 25¢. 4 quarters equal 1 dollar." Meagan's mother explained.
9

"Next are the bills! We have $1, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100!" explained her mother.
10

Meagan looked at all the bills and coins on the table.
11

Meagan really liked the coins because they were so shiny!!
12

Her mom told her, "help me count the money so we can buy the doll!"
13

Meagan's mother pulled all the bills from her wallet and asked Meagan to find 1 $5 bill and 2 $1 bills.
