Once upon a time there was a boy named Charlie. He went to school at Stanton County High School and was in Mrs. Seger's classroom. One day, Mrs. Seger taught the class about a new concept called augmented reality. Charlie thought that this was so cool that he decided to learn more on his own!

Charlie learned that augmented reality is a mixture of virtual elements and real-life elements. It is like adding a new layer of information to the real world! Charlie loved that he could use augmented reality to virtually interact with the real world.

Charlie thought about how he already used augmented reality in his own life. He was a huge football fan and appreciated the first-down line projected on the field while he watched TV. He also loved seeing the player stats, score, and time clock on the bottom of the screen. Then, he had a thought. "I wonder if we could use augmented reality at school?" Charlie imagined being able to scan objects in the classroom and learn more about them, overlay videos with graphs and charts, and translate signs and text he encountered into Spanish! He could take his learning to a whole new level!

Charlie was excited about all of the possibilities augmented reality provided for learning. He decided to look up specific apps. The first he looked at was Sky Map. This was going to make learning astronomy so much easier! All he had to do was point his cell phone to the sky and it would tell him the names of the stars and constellations! Who needs a planetarium when you can look at the real thing?

Next, Charlie looked at an app called Vernier Video Physics. In this app, he could take a video of any type of motion, such as throwing a ball, and then analyze the motion using graphs! Now he could see physics in action! It turned out to be much easier to use than he thought, although he wanted a few more features for the phone app.
