On the shore of the bay at Vancouver Island, a young girl named Alice was crouching on the sand. She was looking out at the ocean, staring intently. She had a watchful eye for orcas. Alice was an orphan. Her step parents were nice, but they didn’t care much about her. Her parents died during a car crash when she was a few months old, only Alice survived. She came here every day. She always loved seeing orcas. The Bay was a famous bay on Vancouver Island . Everyone just called it “ The Bay.”

But the day later, after she scooped her pocket money and ran to the ferry terminal for a ferry out to The Bay, there was a sign that said: “Ferry terminal closed due to oil spills.”
Alice was horrified. She glowered at the sign until she heard a voice behind her.
"I am here, Alice."
She whipped around. Who was talking to her?

“Down here.”
She glanced down at the ocean. Alice gasped. A orca itself was down there!
“How can you speak to me? How do you know my name?” Admonished Alice.
“ That's another story. I have something to tell you. Follow me, I have something to ask you. Jump into the water with me. Call me Cal.”

She hesitated, but still jumped in. She expected to feel cold water, but she didn't! Her clothes were still dry even her shoes, and a streak of Ocean Blue appeared in her hair. She noticed she had the ability to breath underwater. The orca led her into the centre of the Bay. And there, she saw many orcas! In the centre sat a majestic, large orca with a crown of shiny corals around his head. He looked very horribly frustrated.

“Why are they doing this? Why are they polluting? Why can't they stop it?”
He boomed, shaking the ocean floor.“I have not been polluting the ocean with oil, but a lot of the oil companies are,”
Alice stammered shakily. The orca slapped his tail.
“ Stop them! Please!”
As he slapped his tail, the ocean floor shook more violently.

“Go back to your city. I’m afraid there is something urgent!”
Cal advised her.
“ But how?” Asked Alice.
“ We've come a long way now.”
“Just turn around five times, and think of the ferry terminal.”
She did, and she found herself falling backwards, she felt herself lying on something hard.

She opened her eyes. The blue streak in her hair was gone. She was lying on the pavement at the ferry terminal. But something was very wrong. Instead of the calming ocean, huge waves were pouring down on the shores of the city!!!
Even though some of the ocean water had spilled onto the pavement and got her new sneakers soggy, Alice raced home as fast as her cold, wet feet could carry her.She didn't stop until she reached the front door of her house.
