
Rani Laxmi Bai was the queen of Jhansi. Rani studied self defense, horsemanship, archery, and formed her own army out of her female friends. She was also married at the age of seven.
Rani gave birth to a son who died at the age of 4 months. Her husband never recovered from the emotional blow and died when Rani was 18. This left Rani in charge of the Jhansi.
When the British came in they wanted to take the land from Rani. Rani was not happy with the British, so she gathered 14,000 rebels and an organized army to fight against the British when they attempted to attack.
The British came in but left,. Not for long though, they came back and with an army of 20,000 troops. Rani and her army where ready, but they suffered a loss to their city, and the British took control of it. Rani was also killed in battle, while fighting for her city. She goes down in history as remarkable for her beauty, cleverness, and perseverance, and was the most dangerous of all the rebel leaders.
