This book is for any young person who wants to learn about the diverse and exciting possibilities of playing percussion by learning about the most basic families! (and for my EDRD class).

This is Johnny. Johnny heard about a magical world, where there many different exciting instruments that lived in harmony as one family. It was called percussion!

Johnny walked through the woods until he found a magic portal that would take him to this land.

Johnny now found himself in a magical land where hundreds of different instruments existed! They were all in little groups that were each unique in their own way. Johnny walked up to the first group he saw.

The first group of percussion Johnny found was the drums! Drums are something that you hit with your hands or a stick, and have a head to hit! There are many types of drums, from snare drums to timpani to bass drums to conga drums, there are too many to count!
