The American Revolution: Multiple battles between Great Britain and the United States for freedom and self-rule.

-The reason for taxation was because the British were in debt from the French and Indian Wars...
This law was passed on
March 22, 1765. The British
government taxed the paper
given to the colonists. This
angered the colonist and led to
many protests and boycotts on
the products the British would
import to America.

Passage of the Stamp Act:
This law was passed by the British Parliament on May 10, 1773. This allowed the East India Tea Company to become a monopoly over
all the tea sales in America. And
this angered the colonist and led to
many protests and boycotts on
the products the British would
import to America.
Passage of the Tea Act:

The Boston Tea Party:
Because the taxation on tea angered the colonists, they decided to protest, and do something about this unfair taxation. So on December 16, 1773 some colonists (The Sons of Liberty) disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians,
snuck onto some ships
importing tea, and
dumped about 92,000
crates of tea into the
harbor.

Passage of the Intolerable Acts:
The Intolerable Acts, also known as the Coercive Acts were passed in response to the Boston Tea Party. It stated that the Boston Harbor
was closed, that town meetings
were prohibited, and that the
royal governors power would
increase over the people. This
angered the colonist and led to
many protests throughout the
colonial states.
The First Continental Congress:
Twelve delegates from the different states on September 5, 1774 to converse about how they were going to react to the Intolerable acts. They decided to boycott British goods, and refuse to export any goods to Britain. They didn't have a chance to talk over the outcome and stop a war for independence by the time the Second Continental Congress took place.

The Battle of Lexington and Concord:
The Battle of Lexington and Concord took place on April 18-19, 1775. This is also when Paul Revere's Ride took place. The British were marching to Concord to seize weapons, but the colonists/patriots discovered there plan. The patriots met the British in battle and defeated them in the morning of April 19th.
