Stable Food Supply

Ancient Egypt's stable food supply comes from the Nile 

river,irrigation,the plow,farming, and   domesticated 

animals.Though there is one catch to this it is that the 

pharaoh controls the food supply.Nile floods every year 

at the same time leaving fertile soil and fish laying 

around.It also provides a freshwater supply, drinking 

water. The irrigation system and the plow are used to 

help with farming.What things did they grow and what 

did they use them for?The Egyptians grew wheat , 

barley,and beans.They made beer using barley. Beer 

back then was   used as medicine.Domesticated 

animals were used for milk,meat and eggs.The Ancient 

Egyptians also hunted.

Government

Ancient Egypt's government was a theocracy   . It was ruled 

by one person the Pharaoh.Religion also was a part of the 

government Egyptians believed that the Pharaoh was a living 

god.Taxes were used by government but mostly for goods or 

labor.Laws were also set but most of them   were punishments 

as a result of a crime.There was three parts in ancient egypt 

Kush ,upper egypt,Canaan ,the Jews ,and ancient egypt the 

middle were the Pharaoh was located at.Ancient egypt 

concluded of various great Pharaohs .Some of these Pharaohs 

include Pharaoh Kufu the pyramid builder,Pharaoh Senusret 

the patron of the arts,Pharaoh Hatchepsut the promoter of 

trade,and Pharaoh Ramses ii known for expanding and building 

structures.

writing

The writing in ancient egypt used was called 

hieroglyphics . Hieroglyphs consisted of 700 

characters.These expanded over time each one 

represented a common thing in ancient 

egypt.they used there writing in 

temples.Egyptians thought it was important   to 

record and communicate important information 

on religion and writing.Scribes   were the only 

ones who   could really read and write 

hieroglyphs . They needed to go through scribe 

school and they had to go young from the age 

of seven   years old.

Social Structure

Pharaohs are at the top of the social pyramid, then 

government officials follow,then priests, then 

scribes,then artisans,then at the very bottom 

farmers, laborer's, and slaves.The pharaoh controls it 

all and the government officials advise him.Priests are 

important because religion runs Egyptian lives.Scribes 

keep records of history while artisans make pyramids 

and other things.FArmers farm and   slaves do   what 

they are told.HOw you are buried and where tells 

what part of social structure you are in.Housing also 

does the same.

Art

 A very impressive art work   is their 

funerary artwork which survived thousands 

of years.For example the pyramids.Their 

beliefs and religion were shown in most of 

there paintings also showed gods doing 

different activities.Hieroglyphics are also a 

form of art because of its importance to the 

culture.also because of the fact it is painted 

the Egyptians used reliefs.Obelisks were 

also ,made by artisans.
