Pete, the panda's favorite part of the school day was recess because he loved to be outside with his friends.

Pete would hear about the cool things his friends had and were able to do at home.

"My parents bought a big TV", said Lana.

"My mom took me to jump in a bouncy house", said Daniel.

"My parents got me a pet fish", said Martha.

Pete told a lie so he could fit in with his friends.

Pete lied and said, "My dad got the new 2017 corvette convertible".

All of Pete's friends thought Pete was so cool that he gets to ride to school in such a nice car.

Because Pete did not want anyone to find out that he was lying about what car his dad drove so Pete would tell his dad to drop him off down the street from school.

Pete would show up sweating to school days after and his friends started to notice.

Lana asked, "Why are you sweating so much? Does your dads car not have AC?"

Pete replied, "My dad doesn't want to use the air conditioning when the convertible is down."

The following day was raining and Pete showed up soaking wet with muddy shoes.

Daniel asked Pete, "How did your shoes get so muddy?"

Pete replies, "I wanted to play outside before coming in for school".

For Pete to not let his friends find out about him lying, he had to make up even more lies to cover up his first lie.

A week passed by and Martha woke up late for school. She was one of the last kids to arrive.

As she got out of her car, she noticed Pete getting out of his dad's car from down the street and he was not getting out of a new corvette.
