The American revolution was a time of war, fear, and a new beginning . This was a time of birth, new religion and devastation.


































Colonial Life
A life of a colonist was peaceful for the normal colonist. If you lived in the South you would rise at dawn to work all day. if you lived in the North you would be fighting for your freedom and your Liberty.







King George The III
King George the III's real
name was George William Fredrick. George was born June 4th 1738. He was the proud ruler of England and the 13
British colonies. King George signed a treaty with Germany to allow him to hire 20,00 German soldiers to help fight in the war.

The American Revolution also known as the American Revolutionary war was fought for American Independence.
The shot heard around the world
On April 19th the redcoats reached Lexington. ABout 70 armed minutemen were waiting. The inexperienced lexington militia faced a much larger British force. The British ordered the minutemen to go back home. Both captains gave orders to their troops, but amongst the chaos a shot rang out. No one knew who fired the first shot. The shooting continued for 20 minutes leaving 8 Lexington men dead 10 wounded.





















Continental Congress
During the Summer of 1775 the Continental Congress and the colonist were in a difficult position. they debated whether to pursue peace, or go into war. In an attempt to restore peace with the British, delegates sent the king a petition. They asked t resolve the ongoing fights between the colonies and the parliament.
Loyalist
A Loyalist was a colonist who sided with the King. In the American Revolution these people would fight or Britain.

George Washington
Before he was the first president of America, George Washington was a fearless war general. George Washington at only age 22 took part in the French and Indian war and nearly didn't live to become our first president. Washington also was one of our founding fathers. Washington also took part in the Revolution.




Patriots
The Patriots entered the war at a huge disadvantage. They were untrained, unprepared, and not fit for war in general. These men were just normal people. But somehow they won the war.




























Christmas night
On Christmas night George Washington led his troops to the British camp. In the cover of darkness they took down the camp and claimed the fort.

























African Americans
If you were an African American at the time of the revolution you could be two things. One a Loyalist and that would set you free. Or two a Patriot and you would not be free.











Minutemen
Minutemen were normal farmers who were trained to be called into war at any minute. These soldiers were part of the American Revolution.




Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a barbaric event which started as a scrimmage between a red coat and some colonist. This Massacre left 5 dead. This event took place in Boston March 5, 1770.































Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a event that took place December 16, 1773 when the Sons of Liberty barged onto a ship that carried tea. Because of a tax on tea the tea coast more! the sons of Liberty protest by dumping the tea into the sea






































Sons of Liberty
Samuel Adams was the proud leader of the Sons of Liberty. The Sons of Liberty were a group formed to protest British laws. The Sons of Liberty dressed up as Indians and threw tea into the ocean this was the Boston Tea Party.
