To my children Caitlin, Connor, Tristan and Carter.

This is Amare. He is a camel, he has two humps on his back.

Amare noticed that Jabari only had one hump on his back. Had he lost it in the desert? Had it fallen off? Amare wanted to know.

Amare saw a snake slithering across the sand."Do you know why that camel only has one hump?"
The snake answered saying "It doesn't matter. He is different. Stay away."

This is Jabari. He is also a camel, he has one hump on his back. They both live in the desert

Amare was confused. Next he saw a scorpion skittereing across the sand.
"Do you know why that camel has one hump?" The scorpion answered "It doesn't matter. He is different. Stay away."

Amare was even more confused. What should he do? Should he stay away, or talk to the other camel?
He wandered around the desert not sure what to do.
He stopped at an oasis to have a drink and looked into the water.

Amare saw the reflection of his face, he was surprised. The face in the water looked like the other camel's. He wondered how alike they really were.
