I would like to dedicate this book to all my family and friends and especially my Latin teacher. You have given me the inspiration to write this book. I couldn't of done it without you. May your swords stay ever sharp!

One day Athena and Hephaestus decided to have a building competition. Zeus steped in to be the judge so he could declare a winner and think up a fabulous prize.

Zeus declared the rules would be as so: one week to build a monument and dedicate it to him. Also the winner of the competition would be declared the second best god (behind Zeus of course).

"Begin," roars Zeus. Hephaestus decides to build a statue of Zeus entirely out of steel with a golden crown upon his head embedded with magnificent jewels and a silver sword in his left hand with a leather sheath hanging from his waist and a yew bow slung around the his back. Hephaestus names the statue Ferrium Scaevola for he is made mostly out of steel and he is left hand dominant.

Meanwhile, Athena is building a temple to Zeus out of the purest marble. In this temple is an altar dedicated to the awesomeness of Zeus where any mortal can come and give an offering to Zeus. Above the entrance to the temple is the saying, "No matter how large or how small the offering is, you will be rewarded."

At the end of the week, Zeus calls Athena and Hephaestus back together. As soon as Zeus sees the temple, he immediately declares Athena the victor. Hephaestus starts weeping and when his godly tears fall upon his statue, Ferris comes alive because godly tears were shed upon him and Hephaestus had put so much passion and love into making the statue.
