The Singapore Botanic Gardens was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 4th July 2015 at the 39th session of the World Heritage Committee. (W H C) in Bonn,Germany. One of the Gardens' first director is Henry Ridley (1888-1912).

The history of the Garden:
The first botanical garden was set up by Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore and a keen naturalist, in 1822 on Government Hill at Fort Canning, mainly to introduce into cultivation economic crops. It closed in 1829 and, in 1859, at the present Tanglin site a new garden was developed by an Agri-Horticultural Society, and later handed over to the government in 1874.

What interested us is the Durian Theory.Corner postulated that many of today's plants are descended from tree species with large fruit similar to durians.

Others such as the Bandstand,which was erected in 1930,was actually a octangal gazebo at the Tanling core of the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
>It serve a site for regimental music

Plants: Tembusu tree , Orchids , Ginger, Dendrobium Marget Thatcher , Bae Yong-Joon ,Silk Cotton .
. At the exhibition, visitors will gain insights into the Gardens’ rich orchid heritage and its valuable contributions to the orchid industry. The exhibition also highlights the Gardens’ role in promoting the public’s appreciation of this family of plants and the conservation of Singapore’s native orchid species.
