Once upon a time,

There was a fair princess named Juliet and a prince named Romeo. Juliet is coming of age to be married so her father planned a ball for her birthday where all the eligible bachelors came to meet her. She would get to choose one man to marry and spend the rest of her life with. Her Father/Lord Capulet already had a choice in mind for Juliet, but she didn't know that yet....

Capulet House

Lady Capulet went to Juliet's bedroom to talk to her and the Nurse about her birthday ball and the news with Paris. "Your Father and I believe Paris would be a good suitor for you. He's related to the Prince, has lots of money, and cares for you. But, your Father wants you to be happy, so he told Paris that if he wants to be your husband he will have to come to the ball and compete for your affections like every other eligible suitor in Verona. My dearest Juliet I believe Paris could make you happy and you should give him a chance!" said Lady Capulet.

"I don't want marriage, I am far too young! If I did marry I would marry for love, not for money, and definitely for you! But, I shall look to like, Mother." Juliet irritably said.

Romeo just had his heart broken and knew that Rosaline would be at Juliet's ball, since she was a Capulet. His friends Benvolio and Mercutio encouraged him to go to the ball, hoping he would find another girl to fall in love with. "Tonight my feet will be lead, for me there will be no dancing," Little did Romeo know, he would find the love of his life tonight at the ball.

Juliet was overwhelmed by all of the people who came to her birthday ball! As she scanned the room she locked eyes with a boy who made her fall in love at first sight. She never felt anything like this before she she knew she had to talk to him! She made her way over to Romeo and they danced the night away. He made her forget about all the other bachelors in the room, even Paris! Romeo led Juliet out into the courtyard so they could talk away from the crowd. They talked until they heard Lord Capulet loudly announce for everyone to come listen to his announcements.

"Attention good people! I'm so grateful all of you could attend my beautiful daughter's birthday party! Now I invited you not only to celebrate, but also if anyone would want to compete for my daughter's affections please step forward. If you choose to participate over the next three days you will spend time with Juliet, woo her, and try to make her happy. If she chooses you and I approve then I shall arrange for you both to get married," Romeo automatically leaped for the challenge. He knew he had to win Juliet's heart because he had never felt anything like this before. His foolish love for Rosaline became a memory and all his love turned to Juliet. "With that big announcement, lets call it a night! If you want to take a chance with loving my daughter, show up here tomorrow at nine in the morning.

"Good morning kind men! It is so nice to see your kind and honest faces. I wish you the best in this journey of trying to woo my daughter. She is one free spirit but I promise you that she is worth it." Lord Capulet proudly said. Looking around, Lord Capulet saw Paris and Romeo all eagerly looking at him. He could see in their eyes how badly they wanted to win her affections. Chuckling to himself he thought of how much Juliet would make them work for her. (turning to Lady Capulet) "I hope she chooses Paris, he has the most benefits."

"Oh she will, and if our stubborn daughter doesn't we will just make the decision for her. We both know this whole game of yours was to give Juliet the illusion of being in control. In the end we have the final say in this." Lady Capulet stated.
