Types of networks

LAN :-

Stands for "Local Area Network" and is pronounced "lan." A LAN is a network of connected devices that exist within a specific location. WAN :-

Stands for "Wide Area Network." It is similar to a Local Area Network (LAN), but it's a lot bigger.Many wide area networks span long distances via telephone lines, fiber optic cables, or satellite links.The Internet could be described as the biggest WAN in the world.

WLAN :-

Stands for "Wireless Local Area Network." A WLAN, or wireless LAN, is a network that allows devices to connect and communicate wirelessly. WLAN communicateS via Wi-Fi. A wireless router serves as a base station, providing wireless connections to any Wi-Fi-enabled devices within range of the router's wireless signal. This includes laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other wireless devices,

MAN :-

Short for Metropolitan Area Network, a data network designed for a town or city. In terms of geographic breadth, MANs are larger than local-area networks (LANs), but smaller than wide-area networks (WANs). MANs are usually characterized by very high-speed connections using fiber optical cable or other digital media.

SAN :-

Stands for "Storage Area Network." A SAN is a network of storage devices that can be accessed by multiple computers.Each computer on the network can access hard drives in the SAN as if they were local disks connected directly to the computer.This allows individual hard drives to be used by multiple computers, making it easy to share information between different machines.
