Arthur was the best in every subject in fourth grade. He could solve anything, read anything, and complete anything. Arthur constantly thought to himself,

"I don't need help from anyone,"

Arthur started to have trouble hearing things in class.

Arthur was slowly doing worse in school, his grades were falling. Arthur, being the way he was, decided he wasn't trying hard enough, but the problems would only get worse.

Arthur ignored his grades, but they got worse and worse. Slowly but surely, Arthur's grades fell. He became more reserved and wouldn't talk to anyone.

His teacher, friends, and everyone else noticed Arthur's weird change in school. It was Arthur's worse fear!

Arthur would keep trying to ignoring his loss of hearing, he would just keep trying to improve but nothing would work. He was getting worse and worse. Assignment after assignment. Test after test were being failed, but Arthur wouldn't use the hearing aids.

Arthur had been on his about ready to burst. He couldn't fail another test, or miss another assignment.

"There must be something wrong with me," Arthur screamed. "What do I do?"

So, Arthur talked to his parents.

"Let's see the doctor," His parents suggested.

"OK, if it will help," Arthur said.
