Our Journey begins as a water droplet enters a plant leaf through Capillary action. Now this water droplet has seen almost everything from its long existence through the water cycle; except for a cell.
As the water droplet approaches a cell. It encounters the cell wall. The cell wall provides structure, support, and protection for the cell. The cell wall reminded the water droplet of his favorite castles in the land.

As the Water Droplet continues onward he encounters a large containment area. "What are you?" the droplet asked. The large organelle responded "I am a Vacuole, I store many things, such as water, glucose and waste. Have they sent you to be stored within me little droplet?". "No they have not." Replied the droplet while quickly hurrying away, he desperately wanted to continue exploring the cell. The vacuole reminded the cell of a large storage warehouse.

Journeying farther toward the center of the cell the water droplet came upon a large spherical structure. Approaching the strange organelle the droplet called " Mr. Organelle what are you?". Noticing the droplet the organelle called back "I am the nucleus. I am the control center of the cell. I contain the DNA of the cell in smaller organelles called chromosomes." As the droplet continued on with his journey he thought of the nucleus as a large supercomputer.

As the Water droplet continued through the cell he came upon a small cylindrical organelle folded upon itself. "Who are you the?" the droplet asked. "I am a mitochondria, I produce energy from glucose for the cell. The other organelles call me the powerhouse. What are you doing here anyway?" "I am just exploring this cell." The droplet replied. While hurrying off. The mitochondria reminded the droplet of a generator, making energy the way it did.

Carrying on with this WILD journey, the water droplet comes face to face with THE chloroplast. The water asked the chloroplast why he is green. The chloroplast responded with "I contain chlorophyll, that is why I am green. But that is not important, for I conduct photosynthesis to convert light into sugars; which the cells feed on. Think of me as a solar panel. The solar panel uses the suns energy for power." Out of time the water droplet moves on with its journey.

As the droplet is trying to get to its destination, it must pass through cytoplasm. The water is trying to get through the gel-like substance which keeps organelles in place. Another purpose of the cytoplasm was for transportation, which is exactly how the droplet was getting to see all of the organelles. It was a disgusting texture, but the droplet just wanted to think of it as jell-o with a big fruit in the
middle (the nucleus).

When the droplet makes its way back, going deep into the nucleus it discovers the nucleolus. Amazed, the water droplet said, "If you are in the nucleus, then you must be important." The nucleolus responded with, "Why of course I am important, for I play a vital role in making proteins for the cell. I create ribosomes, which you will later meet. Think of me as a factory, that produces necessary items." It was then time for the droplet to leave the nucleus.

On the droplets way out it encountered chromosomes. The droplet was confused why they were in the nucleus, and they responded with, "We contain the genetic information of the organism. We are made of protein and a molecule of DNA." The water carried on thinking of all the information stored by the chromosomes, just like all information stored in flash drives.
