What is in a cell you might ask. Well that is a very interesting story that we are going to tell.

You may ask why we need cells. Well that is because cells make up everything from your head to your toes. They also make up plants and animals.

The cell wall is the first thing that we are going to tell you about a cell. The cell wall helps the cell by keeping it safe, strong, and helping it keep its shape.

Next in our adventure is the cell membrane. It is the separating barrier of the cytoplasm and cell wall. It also controls the movement of materials through the cell.

Once you are inside the cell you may find the Golgi Apparatus. The function of the Golgi Apparatus is to transport proteins to other parts of the cell.

Once we start to approach the middle of the cell we may see little round objects that move around the cell these are called ribosomes. The function of this part is to make proteins which do many things within the cell.

These ribosomes usually hang around the endoplasmic reticulums. There are two types of these reticulums, smooth and rough, they both play crucial roles in the cell.

The rough reticulum got its name because ribosomes sometimes stick to the surface of it. Its function is to package and transport proteins. It acts sort of like a postal office.
