Ray Kroc, the inventor of McDonald's, opened the fast food restaurant in 1955.
He saw the value of a restaurant system that could be famous for offering prepared and quality food, that tasted the same in every location every time.
By 1965, there are 700 McDonald's restuarants.

With the first stock exchange, McDonald's went public in 1966.

Ray Kroc decided to work with his supplier and franchisees together.
As a result, in 1967, the first McDonald's opened outside of US, located at Richmond, British Columbia.
McDonald's today has more than 32,000 restaurants in 117 countries.

McDonald's has become a symbol of globalization with the growth and expansion over the years. The restaurant spreads the "American Style" of fast food around the world.
