OK. To start off, what is your topic that you need to work on?

Once two students stayed after class to talk to their teacher because they needed help on a project. That project was on the Acts that Britain had put on the colonists.

Our topic for the project is the Coercive Acts.

OK then, so if you guys know what your topic is, what do you need help with?

what exactly was the Coercive Acts...?

What!? You're telling me that you picked a topic that you don't even know anything about!? Here, let me tell you what the Coercive Acts were...

Here is a letter from the the king of England.

After the Boston Tea Party, the king of Britain was fed up with the colonist' behavior. He decided to give them some more Acts that would teach them a lesson. Those acts were called the Intolerable Acts, or the Coercive Acts.

This made the colonist' furious! That was because the Coercive Acts were made up of some smaller acts. Here are some of the acts that made the colonists angry (basically all of them).

This is outrageous! We will not (actually, they will) take or listen to these rules, or acts!

Here are a list of the Acts:

• Boston Port Act
• Quartering Act
• Administrative Act
• Massachusetts Government Act
• Quebec Act (not really involving the colonists)

Boston Port Act:

Closed the Boston Harbor, allowing nobody to leave or enter the harbor until the debts from the Boston Tea Party had been payed. (Only Wood Was Allowed In and Out!)

What!? This is OUTRAGEOUS!?!?

All we want is freedom!

No one will be able to enter or leave this harbor until the Tea Party debt has been payed.
