Where I am From

I am from a shirt with a tag a tag still hanging in my closet, from a messy room that never seems to be cleaned.

I am from a wooden dinner table always full, from gardening bags to

black trash bags.

I am from a beautiful front yard and a manicured backyard. (The sweet smell of flowers, the fresh laid mulch, and the buzzing of the bees). I am from flashlight

tag, late night basketball, and

"chris-off" soccer in the upstairs

hallway when getting read for bed.

I'm from Saturday morning swim meets, brisk soccer mornings, and indoor basketball games.

I'm from my Grandparent's house during all breaks and summers.

From my Grandma's "gotta get seconds" spaghetti and my Mom's "Happy Birthday" perogies and ham.

I'm from 2 weeks down the shore and loud family gatherings.

From uncles and aunts and cousins.

I'm from the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

I'm from church on Sundays, bible study on Thursdays, and blasting of, "This is Amazing Grace,"in the car.

I'm from the loving community of Christopher Newport University.

I am from the hot sweaty days of marching band, late night study sessions, and a detailed planner.
