The Haitian revolution was a revolution similar to many others.

It started in the same way:

Imbalance, mistreatment, & unfairness.

Can I be a French citizen?

The French refused to grant slaves and people of color citizenship.

They mistreated them and were never granted the same right as them.

Why can't I get more food?

Because you're a slave!

That was the main reason for the rebellion to start.

And people to wanted a change in the cruel system.

We shall rebel!

Yeah!!

They can't treat us like that!

And so the slaves started secret meetings,

And fought against slaves owners.

Never!!

Stop slaves!!

I will train you and we will gain independence!

A man with the name of Toussaint trained the slaves to defend against the French.

With his help the slaves were able to rebel successfully against the French.

Chaarge!

Nooo!

France was unhappy with this rebellion and wanted to fight back.

Which caused a series of wars to occur between the slaves and the French.
