In 771 B.C.E, The Great Wall of China began construction. The wall was being built in order to help fend off the Mongols, A group of nomadic people who sought for control of China.

The walls were ordered to be connected together by Qin Shi Haungdi.

The Wall helped lead to the creation of the Silk Road. The silk road was a major group of paths made for trading.

The route connected China with the rest of Eurasia. You could essentially walk from China to India, Europe, and Africa.
