The Mongol and Ming Empires
Once upon a time in the year 1200 the Mongols conquered their way to a large empire.
Genghis Khan was the ruler of the Mongol Empire and he conquered an empire all the way from the Pacific Ocean to Eastern Europe.
Genghis Khan had a very strict government. Meaning everyone had to be extremely loyal to him and only him. His strictness gave him the ability to have a very strong Military.
His military conquered many parts of Asia and eventually was able to conquer walled cities by using cannons they got from Chinese and Turkish military.
When the Mongols conquered somewhere new they often allowed the same people to live there as long as the payed contribute to the Mongols.
In 1200 and 1300 the sons and grandsons of Genghis Khan made peace with everyone. Historians call this period as "Mongol Peace". Sense everyone was at peace the economic rate grew. Mostly from trading on the Silk Road.
Eventually there were few Mongols to control the empire so they allowed Chinese officials to rule instead. Kublai changed many things and created new names and ideas to many places of the Mongol Empire.
