What is a Veterinarian?
A veterinarian also known as a vet is a doctor that cares for animals. There are a wide range of different types of vets in america. There is vets that specialize in zoo animals, pets, farm animals, sea life, and there is even wild animal rescue vets.
If your puppy or kitty is sick you will take them to the vet. You have to like animals to be a vet cause if you didn't it just wouldn't make any sense. Vets are brave, kind and love animals Duh!

To be successful as a veterinarian, you need specific qualities you won't learn in school. You will need compassion, both toward the animals you will be treating and their owners.
In order to be a vet you will need a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M. or V.M.D.) degree from an accredited college of veterinary medicine.
