Once upon a time there was a puppy named Penny. She was born on a farm far away from the city.

Penny and her friends were excited to get adopted and every day families came to see them.

Penny was a shy puppy. When families came to play she would stay in the corner and sleep. But when no one was there, Penny would play, be silly, and do tricks for some treats.

But Penny was only shy around people she didn't know. And only because she was nervous. She thought that they wouldn't like her if she let her true self show. 

Watching all of her friends leave made Penny very sad because she wanted to be adopted too.

Penny knows that she doesn't have to change to be chosen, and she's not changing. She is just tired of hiding who she really is.

She played and played with the next family that came.

And finally, Penny got adopted! She realized that it is okay to be shy, fun, playful, or sleepy. No matter what, her family loves her. And she knows she doesn't have to hide who she really is to be loved.
