The third ISTE Standard for Educators is Citizen. This standard focuses on teaching students how to effectively use technology. It emphasizes that students should use technology safely and positively.

Hi class! Today we are going to learn about being safe online. How many of you use the Internet on a phone or computer?

I love playing games on my computer! It is so much fun!

Playing online is fun, but be sure that you are careful. Never post anything inappropriate or put any personal information about yourself online.

Always ask a parent's permission before going online!

You can play games through apps and educational websites to help learn what I am teaching in class while having fun!

Using technology to enhance learning in the classroom and at home is a great way to learn, as long as you are being safe and smart!
