There once was a nice, healthy crab. His name was Shelldon and he loved his bright red shell. It was hard and helped him keep safe.

One day, Shelldon and his friend, Finn the fish, were walking along and Shelldon's feet were hurting more than usual.

The next day, they were playing catch. After Finn threw the ball, Shelldon missed the ball, it hit his shell, then it hurt him. This was the last straw.

I need to do research about this soft shell of mine. 

Later Shelldon found out his soft shell was caused by ocean acidification. This is when a lot of carbon dioxide is dissolved into the water.

Did you know that too much carbon dioxide makes the water acidic which dissolves my shell.
