Shavuot is a is celebrated from the 5th to 7th of Sivan, in the spring. It is celebrated at the end of the omer, seven weeks after the second night of Passover.



Shavuot is celebrated for many different reasons so it has multiple names. The 4 names are:
The time that we got the torah - זמן מתן תורתנו
Holiday of the harvest- חג הקציר
The day of bikurim(first fruits)- יום הביכורים
The holiday of shavuot- חג השבועות

Shavuot is historically celebrated as a festival of the first fruits, and was an farming holiday. Shavuot celebrates the beginning of the harvest. On Shavuot, farmers from Bnei Yisrael would bring bikurim to the Beit hamikdash. . Traditionally, the seven species were brought as bikurim.
