THE FIRST STATE THAT GETS REMOVED FROM THE UNITED STATES IS 

SOUTH CAROLINA.AFTER THAT ELEVEN MORE STATES AFTER ALSO 

SECESED FRON THE USA.THEY END UP BECOMING   Confederate States of 

America.

THE SOUTH HAD CREATED A GOVERMENT IN 

FEBUARY OF 1861.IT WAS CALLED THE 

CONFERERATE CONSITTUITION.IT MOSTLY TALKING 

ABOUT THE AUTONOMY OF EACH STATE.

The south seizes federal forts

South Carolina troops stop a supply ship trying to go 

federal forces   in the fort. The ship had to go back to 

New York, its supplies not delivered.

Lincoln's Inauguration.

  The new president said he was not going to 

end slavery in those states where it already had 

been.He said he would not accept secession. He 

hoped to end the nation problems without war.

Attack on Fort Sumter

lincoln had sent things to the fort but before he had let them 

know before hand.They had thought it was a trick.His offer was 

rejected.And that day april 12 the civil war begain on the fort.

FIRST BATTLE OF BULL RUN

THIS WAS THE FIRST KIND OF BIG WAR OF THE CIVIL WAR.IT TOOK 

PLACE IN VIRGINIA NEAR MANASSAS.UNION START FIGHTING 

UNPREPAIRED.IT WAS FOUGHT ON JULY 21 1861.THE SOUTH WON THE 

FIRST BATTLE.

THE BATTLE OF SHILOH

THE BATTLE TOOK PLACE APRIL 6 1862.THE Confederate attacked Union 

13,000 out of 63,000 Union soldiers died. 11,000 of 40,000 Confederate troops 

were killed.IT TOOK PLACE IN Tennessee.

The Battle of Seven Pines 

 May 31 the Confederate army attacked federal forces at Seven Pines almost beating them but 

last minute army saved the Union from a bad defeat. Confederate commander Joseph E. 

Johnston was hurt very bad.

The Seven Day Battles

June 26 and July 2 Union and Confederate forces fought a series of battles 

Mechanicsville June 26-27, Gaines's Mill June 27, Savage's Station June 29, 

Frayser's Farm June 30 and Malvern Hill July 1. On July 2 the Confederates gave up 

to Richmond ending the   Campaign.
