Once upon a time there was a goddess named Eris, she liked to start trouble wherever she went. When the goddess Eris was not invited to a marriage, she went to the outside of the wedding gates and carved the words "To the most beautiful" on a shiny golden apple. She tossed this apple into the group of the goddess who were in the wedding.

The goddesses Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena all fought over who was the most beautiful. Zeus told Paris to choose who was the most beautiful. In the end Paris chose Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Aphrodite was very happy that she was chosen. On the other hand, Athena and Hera were very upset and swore revenge on Paris and his homeland Troy.

As a reward of giving her the golden apple, Aphrodite granted Paris with the most beautiful mortal in the world which was Helen. Helen had a husband named Menelaus. Once Paris arrived in Helen's homeland, Helen fell in love with him at first sight and together, the ran away to Troy.

It was this deed that started the Trojan War. Menelaus and his brother Agamemnon called other people to help them take back Helen as they promised to. Athena and Hera, still angry at Paris for not choosing them, took Agamemnon's side.

The most famous and greatest warriors in the Greeks was Achilles. Achilles was indestructible, the only weak, spot on him was the back of his foot.

Achilles agreed and led ships of men to Troy. He and his mates fought the Trojans and ambushed neighboring lands. It was the result of these ambushes that caused an argument between Achilles and Agamemnon.

In the argument Achilles got really mad at Agamemnon. Now since he was mad, Achilles then quit the war and decided not to fight

The Trojans were lead by the mighty Hector. Hector was angry at his brother Paris and ordered him to return. "Our men are dying because of you, while you lie inside, kissing Helen," shouted Hector. "I am a lover, not a fighter," replied Paris.
