This is Anna Comnena, Princess of the Byzantine empire. She was born December 1, 1083 and died in 1153. Her farther was the Byzantine Emperor, Alexius I Komnenos. She was a scholar, physician, hospital administrator, and historian. In school she studied literature, philosophy, history, and, geography. She was really known for the pro Byzantine account she provided for the early Crusades.
