The coolest vacation I ever went on, was to the state of Washington. The food was delicious, the sites were beautiful, and our adventure was fantastic! In Seattle, Washington, there is an amazing market called Pike Place Market. It has delicious fruits and vegetables. They also have fresh seafood and meat. They were tossing the fish back and forth, through the air! We bought some grapes and plums; they were so delicious.

We went to a famous place called the Space Needle. It’s over 520 feet tall and is the tallest building in Seattle! Up there, you can see Seattle very well. We used their telescope to help see things that were far away. There was also a VR Station where you bungee jump off the top of the building! 

One day in Seattle, I went to the Woodland Park Zoo. There, you can feed penguins! I saw white Tigers, Kangaroos, Owls, Grizzly Bears, Hippos, White wolfs, and more. Each animal had it’s own nice, big habitat. It took more than half the day to see everything! 

The Pacific Science Center in Seattle was both fun and educational. They had many unique exhibits. There were water sprayers and targets to hit. There, I got to see my first laser light show. I got some very brightly colored rocks as a souvenir, as well as some cool pennies that were formed by squishing cool images onto them.

Dale Chihuly is a very famous glassblower. He created the Bridge of Glass as a gift to the city of Tacoma, Washington. There were so many bright and beautiful colors. Above me, there was a roof of glass blown artwork. Next to me, there was walls of more of Dale’s amazing glass work. I even saw pillars of rocks of glass stacked up; that was the best.

We went to the Hoh Rainforest in Washington. The Hoh Rainforest is a part of the Olympic National Forest and the Olympic Peninsula. I saw a nurse log there which had 3 trees growing from it. The trees were so incredibly tall, they were 3 times taller than trees in Florida. The amount of moss was incredible! I did a scavenger hunt while we were there.

We went to many beaches in the Olympic Peninsula as well. Rialto Beach was drift wood heaven! Ruby Beach had beautiful waves. At Second Beach, there was a funky staircase made of drift wood. At Kalaloch Beach, I made a tower of rocks called a cairn. I also got to see the Tree of Life while we were there; it is basically a cave that has a tree perched above it, with all its roots exposed. There is also a small waterfall at the back of the cave with freezing cold water.

My first time at Mount Rainier, the snow was so thick it was taller than me and my big brother stacked on top of each other! We rolled snowballs down the side of the mountain and made lots of snow angels. We made a mini snowman for the first time too. The mountain didn’t look like a mountain. To me, it looked like vanilla frosting on a pile of Oreos. I hope, one day, I can make back to Washington to see more!
