In Super Bowl 42, the New York Giants
beat the New England Patriots when the
Patriots were 18-0. The Giants just
squeaked out, making the playoffs and
beat the Patriots 17-14 on a game
winning drive by Eli Manning and the
rest of the Giant's stellar team. But in
Super Bowl, 46 they were to face off
again.
This time it would be a little different as Eli
Manning and the New York Giants were a new
and better team, with a great defensive line
and wide recievers that could run like the
wind!
Eli Manning had beat the Undefeated Tom
Brady and he looked to beat the 15-3 Patriots
once again.
The three NYG wide receivers were, Mario
Manningham(Left) Hakeem Nicks(Middle) and
Victor Cruz(Right) who played important roles
in all of the playoff games and throughout the
season. They are a great trio and with those
players and Elite Eli as quarterback, the Giants
were able to make the playoffs and run
through teams.
The Giants were in trouble with four games
left, and they needed to win these next few
games to make the playoffs. They would play
the Cowboys in Dallas. It came down to the
wire with a Brandon Jacobs touchdown that
gave them the lead. Down by three, the
Cowboys attempted to kick a field goal, but the
coach for Dallas called timeout "icing" his own
kicker. After the timeout, he kicked it, and it
was blocked by Jason Peirre-Paul to clinch the
win!
The Giants lost to the Redskins after coming off
an exciting Sunday Night win. They would play
at the New York Jets stadium, which they
share. It would count as their last road game.
They beat Mark Sancchez and the Jets 29-14,
and there would be a NFC East deciding game
between Dallas and the Giants. The winner
played the Falcons for the first round of the
playoffs. The Giants were up 21-0, but the
Cowboys came back to make it 21-14. Big Blue
then pulled away to win the game 31-14. They
headed to the playoffs!
The G-MEN played their only home game
against the Birds of Atlanta, and they started
out down 2-0 when Eli Manning was sacked in
the end zone against the Falcons, but they
would score 24 unanswered points, including a
deep touchdown to Manningham to top it
off(Right). The Giants win would be their only
home game of the playoffs as the Lions were
beat by the Saints. In the AFC, the Texans
beat the Bangles and the Broncos beat the
Steelers in OT!
