Jamilla was a little girl who believed she could be anything she wanted to be. She was confident, bold, and determined. Jamilla grew up in a two parent home, her mother was a teacher and her father was an engineer.

Jamilla believed she could be a singer. She dreamed she could sing like legends such as Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Aretha Franklin. Her favorite genre to sing were Soul, R&B, and Pop.

Jamilla believed she could be a national gymnast. She imagined herself flipping in the air and sticking her landings off the balance beam and uneven bars, and showing off her floor routines. She aspired to be like Dominique Dawes, Gabby Douglas, and Simone Biles.

Jamilla even believed she could be an astronomer like Mae Jemison. Traveling in space studying the stars and galaxies.
