Jamilla believed she could be a national gymnast. She imagined herself flipping in the air and sticking her landings off the balance beam and uneven bars, and showing off her floor routines. She aspired to be like Dominique Dawes, Gabby Douglas, and Simone Biles.

Jamilla even believed she could be an astronomer like Mae Jemison. Traveling in space studying the stars and galaxies.
