Life was not easy for Lee.

Life was not fun.

Lee was too little to tell anyone.

He struggled to read, he struggled to write.

Sometimes they would whisper, "He is not so bright!"

Lee went to school, but he did not understand what needed to be done.

He tried to listen, he tried to do good.

He tried and tried, he did what he could.

And when he went home, his parents did not know how to help.

So Lee did not speak much, in fact he preferred to stay to himself.

Then a teacher came to his school.

They called her Special, and she had only one rule.

That you tried your best,

and she would help you handle the rest.

She saw how hard Lee tried to understand,

and so Special did her absolute best to help him.

Special spent time with him,

and explained everything so that Lee could understand.

So for the first time things started to make sense.

Everything was clear and learning was fun.

Lee could finally take part in the conversation.

Not alone did he feel anymore ever again,

as long as Special was there to help him.

And Lee was finally happy!
