Generals (Union)

Ulysses S. Grant: A Union General who defeated Robert E. Lee at Vicksburg and Gettysburg. After a string of several horrible generals like Burnside and McClellan, Grant finally stepped up and used total war tactics to never let Lee out of his sight. He was a great commander of the U.S's army.

I chose Grant because he was a great general for the North's army, and was one of the first to actually defeat Lee in two battles that turned out to be really major.
Generals (Confederate)
Stonewall Jackson: Jackson was Robert. E Lee's second in command. He was shot by his men on accident during the battle of Chancellorsville. He was scouting out for the next day of battle when his men thought he was a Union soldier. Jackson was a very harsh man, but was willing to die for what he believed in.

I chose Stonewall Jackson, because even though he was a Confederate, he always stood by what he believed in and he always had faith. He was a very strong military leader as well.
Major Battle- Gettysburg
Gettysburg was one of the major turning points of the war. It was a several day long battle that concluded with a Union win. Until this point (also the battle of Vicksburg), the Confederates were seen as the winning side of the war. But Gettysburg (and Vicksburg) turned the war to the Union side winning.

Political Leaders- Jefferson Davis
Jefferson Davis was the president of the Confederacy, when the first states seceded. Davis is obviously from the South, Kentucky more specifically. His political stance was obviously pro-slavery. He was always loyal to the Confederacy. The biggest issue that caused the Civil War was slavery, and whether it should be allowed or not. Davis always stood for the South, and the slavery, so he had an unwavering loyalty to the South.

Political Leaders- Ulysses S. Grant
Ulysses S. Grant was first a general for the Union army, more importantly, who Lee surrendered to at Appomatox. However, Grant was elected to be president later on, and m=had to become a politician. He was born in Ohio, so he supported the North. Even though he wasn't always a politician, he was from the North, and led the Union army to victory. He did not support slavery, however Lincoln was fighting to unite all of the states again, so Grant fought for that too.
