In the 1950s laws in many states prohibited whites and blacks from attending the same schools. An african american could not attend a white school so her parents and several other students parents filed a suit against the board of education . The case took place in 1951 , The district ruled in favor of the Board of Education.

The case is important because it questions the constitution , about the 14th Amendment. It cited the 1896 supreme case Plessy vs Ferguson " separate but equal ".

The case cited Plessy vs ferguson case " separate but equal " . The Brown case, with four other similar segregation cases, was appealed to the United States Supreme Court.

The supreme court decided the outcome with d Chief Justice Warren . They said “separate is not equal,” and that it violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.

I think the outcome of the case was appropriate for that time in history , i do think the case helped in the future for other cases
