This Book was made with one purpose. make the kids have knowledge about Ancient Africa mainly in The Empire of Mali, how it was governed and how they developed their empire. Computer class helped us develop the book, we designed the cover, illustration, and design. While History class gave us the knowledge, the ability to perform the narration.
Once upon a time there was a great empire in West Africa named Ghana, it was very prosperous but because the Almoravids invaded they fell.
A great ruler named Sundiata came into power in 1235. He named the new empire Mali. He was a great ruler and under his rule Mali became prosperous.
After his death a man named Mansa Musa became the emperor. He made a great hajj, which was a religious journey and traveled to the holy city of Mecca. When he came back he returned with many scholars, artists, and teachers.
One of them was a scholar and an architect named Ae-Saheli, he built great mosques all over Gao and Tombouktou. Then Tombouktou became a center for Islamic scholarship.
