This book is dedicated to every child that is open minded & curious about themselves & others.

One sunny afternoon, the teacher had all the children draw pictures of their families. All the children were very excited, getting right to work drawing and coloring their pictures.

However, there was one little girl named Amelia, that was confused when it came to coloring her family members. She looked around the table to get ideas, she noticed that everyone sitting at her table looked different then she did. All the children had different skin, hair, & eye color, none of them were the same. What was she to do?

Since Amelia was having no luck with finding the right color, she then tried to match her skin color to the art supplies she was using, but nothing seemed to match. Amelia then turned to her friend Melleia for some help.
Sure I can try to help. But you should color them whatever color you want.
Melleia, you seem to have your family picture completed. Can you help me pick the color my family should be?

But I am confused because everyone looks different to me as I look around the classroom. Plus none of the art supplies match my skin.

We all look different because we are! That is what makes us special in our own way. If we were all the same it would be a little strange.

Hello girls! I heard you talking about your artwork. Amelia are you having a hard time with your artwork? How can I help you?

Yes, I am having a hard time with my artwork. I am not sure what color my family should be, because I can't find the right color. Melleia told me to color them whatever color I like.
