My love. My whole world.

Dedicated to the real Little Miss Marilyn.
My inspiration for this story.

A special thank you to Miss Saba.
For helping Marilyn find her L.

It wasn't that long ago you see, that Little Miss Marilyn could say with ease: lucky, lollipop, and even lapis lazuli.

"Lucky, lollipop, and lapis lazuli!"
She enjoyed nothing more than to say words that began with the letter L. If she wasn't saying leprechaun, Legos, or ladder, she could be heard singing her Ls...

La!
La!
La!
La!
La!
La!
L
A!
La!
La!
La!
La!
But one day, she awoke to discover that someone had stolen her L.

Oh no!!!

With her L gone, Little Miss Marilyn could not say her favorite words exactly how she wanted to. Lucky became "wucky", and lollipop became "wawee-pop", and lapis lazuli became "wapis wazzui".
Oh no!!! Where's my eh-eh-eL?
Wucky!
Waweepop!
Wapis
Wazzui!

She could have remained sad. She could have stayed in her room and cried ahhhl night long. And, she could have even given up. But Little Miss Marilyn never gives up!

"I'm-going- to-
find-my-eh-eh-eL!"
So, off to the city she went, to find her L.
"Excuse me, Mr. Spider. I'm searching for my eh-eh-el. Someone took it from me. Have you seen an L around here?"
"Do you mean to say L, without the 'eh-eh'? Sorry, can't say that I have."
"How about you cat? And how about you dog?" she asked. "Have you seen it?" The cat meowed, "Absolutely not." And the dog barked that he wasn't sure. "What exactly is an 'eh-eh-el,' anyway?" he asked. Little Miss Marilyn became discouraged.
"Don't give up! Perhaps you should check the nearby farm," Mr. Spider suggested. "Come on! I'll help you find your L."

"Have any of you seen my friend's L?" Mr. Spider asked the farm animals.
The cow mooed, "No."
The pig oinked, "Never."
The rooster crowed, "Nope."
But the butterflies said they had just come from the forest, and perhaps the bear or squirrel might have seen it.

Little Miss Marilyn and Mr. Spider arrived at the forest, greeted the forest animals, and wasted no time asking if they had seen her L.
"Mr. Bear, have you seen my friend's L?" Mr. Spider asked.
"Sorry, don't believe I've seen one of those lying around."
"What about you, Squirrel. Have you seen my L?" asked Little Miss Marilyn.
"Is it brown and sort of oval shaped, and hard to crack open?" the squirrel asked.
"No, of course not," Little Miss Marilyn said, giggling.
"You ought to try some place cold, far away from here.
Maybe your L will be found there," said Mr. Bear.

So, Little Miss Marilyn and Mr. Spider made their way to the North Pole.
"Has anyone seen my eh-eh-el?" she shouted across the frozen landscape.
In typical fashion, Mr. Snowman remained silent. The polar bear only grunted, and all Santa Clause would say was, "Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas!" None of this helped.
But the little birdies flying overhead chirped they had just come from the pyramids and encouraged Little Miss Marilyn to go there and speak with the friendly lion.

Ho, ho, ho., Merry Christmas.
"Hello Mr. Lion. I am Mr. Spider, and this is my friend, Little Miss Marilyn. We are from the city and have traveled all over trying to find her L. You see, someone stole it from her, and she wants it back. Would you please help us?"
"An L you say? Hmmm. Do you mean L, as in lion? L, as in Lu-Lu? L, as in loop-dee-loop? he asked in a snidely way.
"Yes! Yes! Yes! You've seen it?"
"No. Just making sure we were talking about the same L. Might want to check with the Zebra and Giraffe."

"Hello Giraffe. Hello Zebra," Little Miss Marilyn shouted from afar.
Have either of you seen my L ?

I saw an eLephant the other day.
I ZZZaw nothing. Have you tried the jungle?
