And I'm Waterboy. Today we are going to be teaching you about the water cycle.

Evaporation

I am the force behind evaporation. Evaporation happens when liquid water, like the water in the ocean turns into water vapor.

As a water droplet, I would be floating in the ocean and then get really hot and turn into water vapor. I would then be in the atmosphere.

Condensation

It looks like it's going to rain. When the water vapor turns back into liquid water, like the water you would drink, condensation happens.

I was floating in the atmosphere before, now I condense and help form a cloud.

Precipitation

Once I am in the cloud and the cloud gets too full of water, I would fall out of the cloud as a form of water.

Gravity is involved in precipitation. Precipitation is any form of water falling from the sky. It is raining now but, snow sleet, and hail are other forms of precipitation

Surface Runoff

This is surface runoff. Surface runoff is the flow of excess water from storms and melted snow across Earth's surface.

After it rains, there is extra water so I would basically slide down the mountain and end up in a pond. like this one.

Groundwater Storage

People drink this water. Water droplets just sit here until they go somewhere else through a pipe or tunnel.

Groundwater storage is basically what it sounds like, water stored in the ground. In this picture, there is the pond. After a layer of soil, you can see there is some water at the very bottom that is stored there. That is groundwater storage.
