The Industrial Revolution started in Great Britian because they had the factors they needed to for Industrialization. Some of these factors included natural resources, experienced entrepreneurs, growing population etc.

How it spread

The Industrial Revolution spread to the United States and other European countries. Like Great Britian, The United Stated had many factors that were good for industrialization. It also spread to some Asian nations, like Japan, but they were forced to industrialize due to the imperialistic threats against their country. This caused major political, and cultural and economic changes in the world.

Steam Engine

Originally, in order for the factories to be successful and produce things, they had to build their factories by the water to have a source of power. Until James Watt invented the steam engine. This invention was powered by coal and made by iron.

How it changed the world

The steam engine lead to many changed in transportation, such as the invention of the steam boat and the locomotive. These changes in transportation lead to trade occurring over longer distances. This made trade a lot easier and faster.

Interchangeable Parts

Interchangeable Parts are identical parts manufactured by machines. These parts led to mass production of many goods, and the goods were able to be repaired easily. This was very important because Mass production led to goods being more accessible to more people, because they were produced at a cheaper price. This meant more people could eat and live for a cheaper price.
