INTRODUCTION
Did you know that giraffes are the tallest animals in the world? They can be up to 18 ft. tall (5.5 meters). Giraffes also live all over Africa. There are only 4 different species of giraffes in the world, including the northern giraffe. All giraffes have spots all over their body and use them to camoflauge.
Northern Giraffes scientific name is Giraffa camelopardalis, but they are better known as the Northern giraffe. Scientists use their scientific name to identify them. They are in the class Mammalia. This means they are mammals
GIRAFFES
Giraffes live in many different places in Africa. Some of those places are Nigeria, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa etc. They live in savannas and grasslands all over Africa. Savannas consist of tall green grass, wide open fields and tall trees. This map, shows where they are mostly located in Africa.
HABITAT
Giraffes are tan with brown spots all over its body with a mane, tail and tiny horns on top of its head. Giraffes are the tallest living animals in the world. Giraffes also have long stiff necks which makes it hard to drink water from the ground. They have brown spots all over its body to help them camouflage and hide away from their predators. Giraffes have bilateral symmetry. Almost all vertebrates have bilateral symmetry.
BODY STRUCTURE
DEFENSE
First the giraffe will see the animal coming its way with their eyes. Then If an animal is trying to attack a giraffe, the giraffe will use its hind legs and kick the animal. The giraffe will also try to nudge the animal in its body with its horns on its head.

ADAPTATIONS
Giraffes adaptations include giraffes having long necks, spots all over their body, and long legs. Giraffes use their long neck and tongues to get leaves from the Acacia trees. Without these things giraffes could not be able to get food. They wouldn't be able to spot animals coming their way or be able to camouflage into the grass.
BEHAVIORAL SKILLS
Giraffes have long legs, necks, and have really good eyesight. These things help the giraffe protect itself from other animals. Their legs help them kick the other animals that are attacking them. Their long neck and eyes help them see animals from far away.
