Hello, my name's Rocky and we're going to learn about the Rock Cycle!

The rock cycle is a continuous process that causes rocks to change.

Oh look! It's my friend Vicky the Volcano. She's going to teach us about igneous rock.

Igneous rock forms when molten magma cools and crystallizes. It can form above or below ground.

Because rocks form a cycle there are three options igneous rock can take.

It can melt back into magma or turn into metamorphic rock with heat and pressure or through weathering and erosion turn into sediment.

Come on! Let's talk to Sam the Sediment about sedimentary rocks.

Sedimentary rock is pieces of rock that have been loosened from weathering.

The pieces of rock are transported, deposited, compacted, and cemented.

Sedimentary rock can turn into metamorphic rock with heat and pressure or sediment by weathering and erosion.

Hey Mateo the Marble! Can you teach me and my new friend here about metamorphic rocks?
