Who are they?
- The Anglo and the Saxon tribes were the largest of the three attacking tribes, they shared the same language but were each ruled by different strong warriors. They were warrior-farmers and came from north-western Europe. The Anglo-Saxons were tall, fair-haired men, armed with swords and round shields.

2
Where did they come from?
- The term Anglo-Saxon is a relatively modern one. It refers to settlers from the German regions of Angeln and Saxony, who made their way over to Britain after the fall of the Roman Empire around AD 410
- They came from Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

3
What groups did they fight against?
- The Anglo-Saxon invaded Britain in the beginning of the fifth century. The Romans never trained the British so when the Anglo-Saxon came they invaded and succeeded. Historians are not sure why the Anglo-Saxon came to Britain. Some say that they were invited, and some say their land was flooded and it was difficult to farm crops.
