Before light bulbs everything was by candle light, and Edison wanted to change that.

He tried everything from cloth to grass.

He had tried over 1,000 materials and thought he would never get it. He knew the risk was high, but the reward was bigger. He could change the world with this invention. He was trying to find another material that could work until he found one that he hadn't tried or thought of...
