Have you ever wondered where the rocks in your garden come from?

Well, today I am going to talk to you all about the rock cycle! I'm going to talk to you about the three types of rocks that are found in Earth. In Earth we have igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks.

Igneous Rocks

Igneous rocks are formed by the cooling of magma. Magma is hot melted rock found underneath Earth's surface. Once magma erupts from beneath Earth's surface (usually from volcanoes) it cools and forms igneous rocks.

Sedimentary Rocks

Sedimentary rocks are formed by sediment. Sediments are small pieces of rock that are broken down by wind or water. This sediment is then deposited into layers in Earths's oceans, lakes, or rivers. Over time, these layers become glued together to form sedimentary rocks.

Metamorphic Rocks

Metamorphic rocks are rocks that are pushed deep beneath Earth's surface. These rocks form with extreme heat and extreme pressure. This extreme heat and pressure allow rocks to change from and become metamorphic rocks.
