Camp Jackson
Camp Jackson was used as an area for training personnel for the army. This camp was founded by Douglas MacAurthur. Was shut down after World War 1 and then re-opened in 1940.
Camp Sevier
Camp Sevier was a temporary cantonment site in Greenville County created to train federalized National Guard soldiers during World War I. Once all units had reported, soldiers were trained in new modes of warfare, such as gas defense and the use of the machine gun.
Charleston Naval Yard
A place to station ships for the Navy. Opened in 1919 and closed in 1996. Used to repair damaged ships and submarines.
