Hello! I am Neil Armstrong and I have recently been asked to tell you all about the Earth, Sun, and Moon which I was the first person to land on. Lets get right to it!

Earth's Rotation and Revolution

The Earth spins around on its axis (an imaginary line that an object spins on). This spinning is what gives us the days on Earth. It takes about 24 hours for this to occur.

Revolution

The Earth not only rotates on its axis, it also spins in a circular motion around the Sun. It takes approximately 365 days for one circle around the Sun.

Seasons

The Earth's axis is titled by 23.5 degrees. This tilt is what causes the seasons known as Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. The seasons change as the Earth revolves around the Sun as seen in this picture to the right.

The Moon

MOON PHASES

Our Moon also revolves around the Earth like we revolve around the Sun. While the moon revolves around the Earth, it also rotates on its own axis. It takes the moon the same amount of time for it to rotate on its axis as it does to revolve around the Earth making it to where we only see one side of the Moon. Also, the revolution around Earth creates the 8 different phases of the moon that we see during each month.
