Hi I'm Pete, you might be wondering why I'm in front of a pizza place? Well today I'm going to teach you about fractions and what better way than with pizza!

Hi I'm Sandra and I work here. Please be seated and a server will be right with you to take your order.

Hello! Welcome to Pete's Pizzaria!
What can I get for you today?

I would like a special pizza. A pizza that contains portions of different toppings.
Will that be possible to make?

"Oh ABSOLUTELY!", said Sandra.
"How would you like your pizza toppings?"
"I would like half of my pizza with pepperoni topping and the other half cheese topping."

"No problem-o! I will give your special order to Pete and he will get to work!"

I have a special pizza order. Half of a pizza with pepperoni topping and the other half with cheese topping.
HMMM.. this will take some thinking!

I know half means 2 equal pieces of something. So I must have to divide this pizza evenly down the middle to get my 2 equal pieces of pizza!

------------------------------------

"Perfect! I have cut the whole pizza into 2 equal parts. I now have 2 halves."
1/2 of cheese topping.
1/2 of pepperoni topping.

"ORDER UP!", yelled Sandra.

Perfect! Just like I imagined. 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 cheese topping.
"Thank you Pete!"

Hello! I too have a special pizza order.
I would like a pizza 3/4 pepperoni topping and the remaining 1/4 meat topping.

Sounds great! Pete will start your pizza order right away.

3/4 pepperoni and 1/4 meat topping. This is a bit more challenging but I will use the same thinking as I did for the previous pizza order.
I will cut the pizza into 4 equal parts now!
